Upcoming Change to Client Credits (Release 1.14.0)

We’re reaching out to inform you about an upcoming change to how client credits work in Glopos. These changes will go live with release 1.14.0, which is expected in mid-August.

Reason for the Change

Currently, all client credit purchases are added to a single credit pool with one shared expiration date. This expiration date is reset every time new credits are purchased. While this system has functioned well, it comes with key limitations:

  • Lack of flexibility (no per-purchase expiration control)
  • No visibility into credit usage per purchase
  • Inconsistent behavior compared to device credits
  • Increased complexity for ongoing maintenance

What’s changing

To align with device credit behavior and improve functionality, we are updating client credits as follows:

  • Each credit purchase will have its own expiration date (editable).
  • Each purchase will include a dedicated detail page showing:
    • Credit package information
    • Purchase date
    • Expiration date (new)
    • Ability to change expiration date (new)
    • Custom fields
    • Amount of consumed credits (new)
  • The list of purchases will split into two lists:
    • Active credit packages
    • Expired/consumed credit packages
  • Credits with the earliest expiration are consumed first.

Migration of Existing Credits

Client credits in the old format will be transformed into the new format by preserving the amount and purchase dates. In detail:

  • Each existing credit purchase will be assigned an expiration date equal to the current client credit expiration date at the time of migration.
  • The current credit balance will be redistributed to credit package purchases starting from the most recent.
  • Purchase dates will remain unchanged.
  • New unique purchase IDs will be generated for each entry.

What you need to do

Keep in mind:

  • The behavior of client credits will now match that of device credits.
  • Client credit purchases will receive new IDs. If you rely on these IDs in external tools or reports, you’ll need to regenerate those reports after the update.
